We are pleased to advertise an upcoming online session with Carter Burnett on the current reforms to the Fixed Costs Regime.
This session will cover aspects for any practitioners who deal with civil litigation (to include PI and Clinical Negligence) with a value of up to £100,000.00, either as Claimant or Defendant. The session will analyse the new reforms and provide practical tips and guidance on how to navigate the complexities of it with opportunities to raise questions. It will cover:
- What the new rules are
- When they apply (including exceptions)
- The new Intermediate Track
- The procedure (allocation & assignment)
- How recovery will be impacted
- An introduction to the proposed approach to Clinical Negligence claims sub £25,000 (the LVCD)
Speaker Bios
Seamus Kelly is a Solicitor Advocate and Director at Carter Burnett. He has a wealth of advocacy experience and represents clients throughout the country at CCMCs and Detailed Assessment hearings. He has particular experience in clinical negligence and catastrophic injury claims. He regularly advises clients on complex costs issues.
Sean Linley is a Senior Costs Draftsperson and Assistant Manager at Carter Burnett (Newcastle upon Tyne) with over 10 years’ experience in costs. He blogs extensively on costs law and has over 13,000 followers on LinkedIn. He has featured in the Solicitors Journal, Cilex Journal and Litigation Funding Magazine and has been quoted multiple times by the Law Society Gazette. He is highly experienced in civil litigation including clinical negligence and catastrophic injury claims. He has also dealt with Supreme Court matters, a privilege many costs specialists have not had.
